One could perceive and sense every nuanced expression emanating from the man and his guitar. It seemed like Roger was yelling in vain over a wall of relentless reverb. The Painkillers's first chord relieved all of my worries. It felt as if there was an issue with the sound system after enduring 50 minutes of Roger Daltry's loud but somewhat shallow performance. Eric's backup band subtly and exquisitely merged, delivering just the proper tone to transfer The Painkillers's blues to the heart.
